Burleson ISD Hosts First-Ever Choice Night

Event Showcases Education Choices Available to Students in Burleson ISD

BURLESON, Texas (Feb. 7, 2017) – Burleson Independent School District (BISD) invites parents and students to attend BISD Choice Night on February 16. Principals, teachers and students from choice schools and programs, in addition to traditional high school career pathways and electives, will share information with parents and students on the education opportunities available to students in the district.

BISD Choice Night is Thursday, February 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Centennial High School, located at 201 S. Hurst Rd. Click here to view a printable flyer with details.

A choice school offers students an opportunity to explore a specific pathway while still learning the required state curriculum. BISD currently offers: four elementary schools of choice, one choice middle school, one choice middle school program, one choice high school, and numerous career pathways and programs for traditional high school students.

Students interested in attending choice schools or programs must apply to the lottery and follow application guidelines specific to the school of choice.

For more information on choice schools and programs, and application details and timing, visit http://www.burlesonisd.net/choiceschools/.

The selected neighborhood elementary schools will continue to serve the students in their attendance zones as their neighborhood school.
